Dr. Doug Howard
On February 5, 1978, God called Doug to preach. He was licensed, ordained and comissioned by Dr. Ronald Young under the authority of Antioch Baptist Church in Harlem, Georgia. Doug later served as the pastor of two churches in Alabama and Georgia.
In 1979 he moved his family to Greenville, SC to attend Tabernacle Baptist College. The college conferred upon him a Bachelor of Theology Degree. Doug went on to pursue and earn a Master of Theology and Doctor of Theological Studies from Bethany Divinity College & Seminary in Dothan, Alabama. Additionally, he studed Greek at the post-graduate level at Moody Bible Institue.
On October 6, 1986 Doug and his wife Carolyn surrendered to go to South Africa as missionaries. Baptist International Missions, Inc. in Chattanooga, TN. accepted them on December 8, 1986 and their sending church was Antioch Baptist Church, in Harlem, GA. Together they served served BIMI for 24 years and in South Africa specifically for almost 22 of those years.
For some time, Doug had sensed that the Lord was closing the door in South Africa due to Carolyn's health issues. They prayed for some time what to do and for a definite door of service. Dr. Aiken asked Doug to pray about becoming the International Director of TBMI. Doug and his wife believe this to be the definite door they prayed about and the will of God for their lives. Their desire is to be a blessing to God's people.
