Aunt Fanny’s Pound Cake

4 sticks of butter softened.

 

31/2 cups of sugar

 

10 large eggs or 12 small ones

 

4 cups sifted, all purpose, flour

 

Preheat oven to 325 degrees f.Grease and flour 10 inch tube pan.

cream sugar and butter together in a large bowl; until light and fluffy.Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

 

Gradually add flour, beating until well blended. Spoon into the prepared pan.

 

Bake for one(1) hour and(40) forty minutes or until a tooth pick inserted, near the edge, comes out clean.

 

Cool in pan for 10 minutes, turn out onto wire rack and cool completely.

 

Serves 10 to 15
